Positive: There are no words to express how truly wonderful it was to stay at Zimba cottage. The locations was perfect - far enough away from the noisy hustle and bustle of town but close enough to easily get around. The cottage itself is quite charming, perched atop a hill with wonderful views and fully equipped with anything you would need for a comfortable stay. The highlight of the stay; however, was far and away the amazing hosts! Dr. Zimba and his family were so warm and welcoming and very quickly became family. Not only did they make sure I had everything I needed to have a perfect time in Kalimpong; they went above and beyond - taking me to local sites, feeding me incredible food, engaging in meaningful conversation, and just all around making me feel genuinely cared for. Meeting them has absolutely been the highlight of my entire trip to India, and I cannot wait to come back!

Summary: Best place to stay in Kalimpong! I came alone as part of a pilgrimage and left with a second family.
